He was predeceased by: his parents, Nick Ternowsky and Mary Ternowsky; and his brothers-in-law, Al Strohan, Peter Karwacki and Eugene Zaleschuk.

He is survived by: his wife Helen; his children, Cynthia Hebert (James Schneider) and Dean Ternowsky (Yvette); his grandchildren, Raymond Hebert (Dakota), Megan Scott, Brenden Hebert and Maddison Ternowsky; his great grandchildren, Brysen Brown, Hayden Klein and Bowie Hebert; his sisters, Rose Strohan (Al) and Pat Wasylyshn (Buddy); his siblings-in-law, Joe Karwacki (Benita), Alice Zaleschuk (Eugene) and Susan Karwacki (Peter); and his grandchild Dean Curtis.
