With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Pete Dutka (Sherwood Park, Alberta), who passed away on May 28, 2020 at the age of 95. Leave a sympathy message to the family on the memorial page of Pete Dutka to pay them a last tribute.

He was predeceased by: his wife Doris; his grandson Brenden; his daughter Leanne; and his son-in-law Ken. He is survived by: his children, Janice (Ray Little), Peter (Marilyn), Nancy and Shelley (Larry Yuskow); and his grandchildren, Karen (James Gunton), Travis (Stephanie), Saralyn, Jordan, Ella, Taylor, Finn, Jaxen, Hailey and Chloe.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Kipnes Centre for Veterans or to the Royal Canadian Legion, Kingsway Branch.

“To Peter Dutka's family I want to say that I was honoured to have met your Dad, Grandfather while volunteering at the Kipnes Veterans Centre. We had great conversations and talked about everything as his knowledge of the world and economy was brilliant. Being from a military background, I realized that Peter's time in the military was full of adventure and the stories he shared with me were those of a person who truly enjoyed his part in the war as an experience to grow on. RIP”

“I am so saddened to hear of pete's passing. He was such a presence at kipnes. My husband and i visited with him daily in the great room at kipnes. This is a terrible time due to covid 19 and i miss going to visit my husband there, but i've been thinking of pete often and miss seeing pete as well. He was a very nice, intelligent and gentle man. I'm glad to have shared some time with him in the last year. Rest in peace, pete! Maria”
