He was predeceased by: his mother Verna Large; his stepfather Lawrence Large; his siblings, Emery, Tyler Large, Katie, Lorna, Leona, Violet Cardinal, Jackie Gladue and Anne Marie White; his nieces and nephews, Clifton Shirt Jr., Jesse, Shakira Large, Gabriel Shirt, Joshua Cardinal, Josette Favel, Robert White and Francis Primeau; and his grandparents, Peter, Mary Shirt, Sylvester and Katie Cardinal.
He is survived by: his sons, Jordan Steinhauer and Dehlay Cardinal; his father Lawrence Shirt; his siblings, Marilyn Cardinal, Joanna Large, Crystal Large, Ryan Large and Trina Large; and his aunts and uncles, Margaret White, Victoria Wasatenau, Violet Shirt, Barbara Bull, Dorothy Shirt, Bella Shirt, Doreen Whiskeyjack, John Shirt (Mabel), Kenny Shirt, Harrison Shirt (Cheryle) and Leonard Demarre (Jacqueline).
A wake was held on Thursday, December 5th 2024 at 2:00 PM at the Ayiwakes Cultural Centre (404a 50TH St, Saddle Lake, AB T0A3T0). A funeral service was held on Saturday, December 7th 2024 at 11:00 AM at the same location.
