He was predeceased by: his parents, Raymond Ovelson and Esther Ovelson; and his brother Dennis Ovelson. He is survived by: his wife Brenda; his daughter Stephanie; his stepdaughters, Sheila, Lisa and Elaine; and his grandchildren, Kayla-Jean, Isabella, Matthew, Susan, Austin, Alyssa, Laurie, Kiri and Melissa.

Due to the covid19 restrictions a private family service will take place.
