He was predeceased by: his parents, Joan and Friesland (Netherlands); his wife Rita; and his siblings, Piet (Swart), Robert (Swart), Jan (Bakker), Thea (Kingma), Joan (Vandermeulen) and Judy (Smoes).
He is survived by: his sisters, Mary (Forester), Tina (Copeland) and Ann (Visser); his children, Peggy Valstar (Randy) and Peter Swart (Katrina); his grandchildren, Jessica Veenstra (Corben), Joshua Valstar, Julianna Valstar, Trinity Swart and Cadence Swart; and his great grandchildren, Scarlett, Elsie and Emmett Veenstra.
The family requests that in lieu of flowers donations in Ken's name may be made to Central Alberta Palliative Care (CAPC) or West Country Family Services Association, Rocky Mountain House.
