He was predeceased by: his siblings, Yuet Seen Wong (Luen), Yook Seen Lee (Suet Hong), Poy Mah (Lai Wah) and Wei Mah (Moon); and his son Philip.

He is survived by: his wife Amy; his siblings, May Kwan (Henry) of Rocky and Joe Mah (Kim) of Calgary; his children, Roland (Janet), Lenna (Helmut), Dan (Hannah), Mabel (Ted), Laurie (Brent) and Melanie (Terry); and his grandchildren, Julian, Kiara, Selina, Arianna, Bree and Elanor. He is also survived by numerous nephews and nieces.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Kidney Foundation of Canada and Diabetes Canada.
