He was predeceased by: his parents, Margarette Smith and Loys Smith; and his siblings, Elaine and Larry. He is survived by: his son Kevin; his grandson Karl; his great grandchildren, Freyja and Kronos; his granddaughter Tasha; his great grandchildren, Brinley, Branson and Bostyn; and his brothers, Gordon Carswell (Mariam) and Doug Smith (Bunni).
