He was predeceased by: his brother-in-law Angus; his niece-in-law Dawn; and his friends, Floyd and Dale. He is survived by: his great-uncle George; his siblings, Tom (Carol), Gloria and Clara (Alec); his nephews, Jimmy, Willy, Randy, Wayne, Paul, Gerald and Ron (Taralee); and his great-niece Boo (Briley).

One time we were talking about Covid, and George said,"Ya, you think I'm scared of that? I burn pressure treated wood in my stove – Bring it!!!".
