He was predeceased by: his parents, Myrtle Gillis and Ken Kennedy; his son Blake; his brother Larry Kennedy; and his siblings-in-law, Vic and Ida Ahlstrom.

He is survived by: his significant other Luella Ahlstrom; his son Brent (Mary); his grandchildren, Ashley (Grant), Zachery (Laura), Peter (Nicole) and Stephen (Lori); and his siblings-in-law, Claire Kennedy, Wayne Ahlstrom (Joyce), Laverne Ahlstrom (Coral), Raymond Ahlstrom (Hazel) and Garth Ahlstrom (Aline).

Memorial donations may be made to the Rocky Mountain Health Care Centre or to a charity of donor's choice.
