LEVEILLE, Sandra-Jean “Sandy” (Elliott), Age 71, formerly of Thunder Bay passed away Thursday, Oct 3rd, 2019, in Redwater Health Care Facility.
Sandy is survived by two loving sons; Hugh Leveille and Sean Leveille; two grandchildren Emma Leveille and Kassandra Leveille; sister, Heather Anne Elliott-Martin, nephew, Zachariah D Lawrence, grandniece, Glenda Angelina Lawrence; nieces and nephews Mike Wells (Alana) Glen Wells (Teresa) Lisa Zorzi (Paul) Becky Wells (Jeff) Cathy Warren
Predeceased by; mother, Norah I Elliott (Edgar), father, Hugh A. Elliott, brothers, Keith Elliott, Robert J. Wells (Betty), aunt, Doris I Elliott.
Sandy was born on May 21st, 1948 in Port Arthur, ON, to Hugh and Norah Elliott. She was a graduate of Lakeview Highschool in 1966 and received her degree in nursing from Lakehead University. On March 3rd, 1978 and August 29th 1981 respectively, she welcomed her sons, who were the most important part of her life.
Sandy was a devoted mother, and a great friend to many. Gardening was her passion, she enjoyed taking care of her many flowers, plants, and looking after her pond. Sandy was a member of Beta Sigma Phi sorority, and a member of Knox United Church (Harmony) choir for many years. In 2011, Sandy moved to Coronado AB (north of Edmonton), to live with her sister. While in Edmonton, she was part of the Gibbons Unity Singers, who sang at seniors homes and extended care facilities, the Alberta Legislature at Christmas, and various community events. Sandy was also part of the Redwater quilting guild, and went to various quilting shows around the country. She will be deeply missed by family, and friends.
A funeral service is scheduled for 4:00pm on Oct 27th, 2019 at the Harmony United Church on 1 Shuniah St, Thunder Bay, ON . Reverend Joyce Fergus-Moore will officiate. Memorial donations may be made to the Canadian Mental Health Association on her behalf.
