He was predeceased by: his parents, William Schafer and Annie Schafer; his wife Juliana; his children, Donald and Nancy; his brothers, Clifford and Mervin; and his in-laws, Lucy, Cynthia, Pat, Janet Schafer, Max Taylor, Lillie, Roy Clutton, Marion, Roy Brown and Blanche Cunningham.
He is survived by: his son Stephen; his daughter-in-law Gillian; his granddaughters, Lisa (Nash), Lindsay (Mark) and Jennifer (Adam); his great grandchildren, Ethan, Jaxon, Carson, Madison and Hudson; his siblings, Arnold and Rose; and his in-laws, Norrie Cunningham, Frank and Barbara Dallaire. He is also survived by his many nieces, nephews and dear friends.
