Judy Mulrooney Obituary

Judy was born October 2, 1948 to Dave and Dorothy Horbal in Lloydminster, AB, the eldest of 3 children, and slipped quietly away into the arms of Jesus in the early hours of July 25, 2022 after a valiant struggle with ALS.

She was predeceased by her father in 1979, her mother in 2019 and the youngest brother, Alan, in 2020. She is survived by her husband, Danny; her son, Randy; and her younger brother, Larry. She was an active Christian with the Church of Christ since 1964 when the family moved from Lloydminster to Red Deer. She was a Hearing Instrument Specialist and co-owner with the Beltone Hearing Centre for almost 5 decades during which time she cared for and served thousands of those with hearing impairments. Her faith and positive outlook in all situations and toward all people was amazing and contagious – she was a most beautiful person inside and out and will be deeply missed by all who knew her.

A Celebration of her life will be held at the Davenport Church of Christ on Saturday, July 30, 2022 at 1:00 PM. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the ALS Society of Alberta.

Danny, Randy, and Larry, I was so sorry that Judy has passed on. I am sad with you. I have so many memories of growing up with Judy in Lloydminster and Red Deer. She was like an older sister to us. I'm so proud of you for your faith and service to the Lord all these years.

Danny, I am right there with you as you walk through these challenges. My husband passed away in 2020. I'll be praying for you all.
