He is survived by: his wife Laura; his children, Terry (Sue) of Red Deer, Larry (Jackie) of Osoyoos, Steve of Red Deer, Alberta, Deb (Rich) of Red Deer and Wendy (Anne) of Houston, Texas.; his sister Elsa Wallace of Ocean Springs; and his sisters-in-law, Evelyn Wittchen of Drumheller and Jean Ryan of Delta.

I just wanted to say when growing up so close to Johnnie and the family that back yard rink and all his support to our small community you appreciate what he did for all of us. John help our community in projects that are still used today and many more years., I was fortunate to play when he umpiring at the ball park into my mid 30's with many a conversations after the game. He was true family man and good memories of his time with us.”
