It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Deana Margaret Thompson (Red Deer, Alberta), born in Hudson Bay, Saskatchewan, who passed away on March 13, 2025, at the age of 64, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by: her spouse Rene Claude Harmgardt; her parents, Homer Thompson and Rose Simpson; and her siblings, Adiranne and Alfred Thompson.
She is survived by: her children, Sabastien Thompson, Sunny Traverse and Jason Carpenado; her grandchildren, Taylor Willford, Hunter Ripley, Elizabeth Farley and Payton Maggie Jones; her siblings, Ken Thompson, Lyle Thompson, Gelores Glen and Elfie Howard; and her friends, Joel Czarny, Bernadette Tamang, Sharon Morigeau and Leigh Landry.
Deana was proud of her Métis heritage, and in lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made make a donation to their Métis or indigenous charity of their choice.
