He was predeceased by: his parents, Ernest and Elsie; his brother Gerry; and his parents-in-law, Ed and Mabel.

He is survived by: his wife Judy; his children, Alyssa, Sarah (Corby) and Ben; his grandchildren, Lindsey, Elodie, Hazel, Aubrey and William; his sisters, Susan (Dennis), Sally and Linda (Brian); and his sisters-in-law, Doreen, Pam (Brent), Lorna (Greg) and Wanda (Jason). He is also survived by eleven nieces and nephews.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in Dave's honour to Crohn's and Colitis Canada or Red Deer Hospice Society.
