Alton Rix Obituary
With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Alton Rix of Red Deer, Alberta, born in Wetaskiwin, Alberta, who passed away on July 1, 2021 at the age of 79. Family and friends are welcome to send flowers or leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
He was predeceased by: his parents, Vernon Rix and Mary Rix; his sister Jean Collins (Don); his father-in-law Rudolf Schatschneider (Martha); his son-in-law John Hayes; and his siblings-in-law, Paul Schatschneider (Hilda), Ed Schatschneider (Freda), Edith Ochs (Bill), Hedy Zielke (Lawrence), Herb Schatschneider, Elsie Waters, Frieda Jess (Otto), Gertrude Schatschneider and Albert Schatschneider.
He is survived by: his wife Leona Schatschneider; his children, Kerrie (Jonathan) and Trent (Debbie); his grandchildren, Sydney, Kyle, Justin Rix, Cole and Janae Saunders; his sister Linda Heise (Bill); and his siblings-in-law, Alfred Schatschneider and Arletta Schatschneider. He is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews, extended family members, and friends.
Given that restrictions related to the COVID-19 pandemic have only recently been relaxed, and for the health and safety of individuals attending with immunity concerns, we ask that those attending please social distance when possible.
