He was predeceased by: his parents, Roma Truant and Romano Truant; his wife Phyllis Densmore; and his sister-in-law Berthe Truant. He is survived by: his siblings-in-law, Harry Densmore and Olive Emmott; his brother Dino Truant; his children, Michael Truant (Carolyn) and Tammy Postma (Barry); and his grandchildren, Micah Truant (Brendon Morden), Tarah Truant (Brad Wiedmer), Marlee Postma and Jared Postma. He is also survived by many nieces, nephews, and extended family.

No funeral will be held at this time due to COVID restriction.

In lieu of flowers donations in Alfio's memory can be made to the Red Deer Hospice Society, 99 Arnot Ave. Red Deer, Ab. T4R 3S6.

“We are so sad to hear of Alfio’s passing. My first thoughts were of our happy, carefree school days at St. Joseph’s Convent. I pictured how pleased Sister Mary and Sister Paul would be on his arrival. He, like so many of our classmates seemed to have received special blessing from our Convent Education, primarily the gift of family and the years to enjoy them.
