He is survived by: his wife Linda Joyce Varty (Mertz-Russell); his children, Melanie, Leonard, Robert, William, Sarah, Heather, Hiram, Adam, Laurel, Tim, Trevor and Johnathan; and his siblings, Sharon Herrington (Michael) and Jim (Marilynn). He is also survived by 27 grandchildren and 2 great grandchildren.
