He was predeceased by: his parents, Walter Hnatuk and Helen Hnatuk; his brothers, Timothy, Leonard and John; his parents-in-law, Robert and Marjorie Menzies; and his brothers-in-law, Bob Menzies and Paul Sorensen.
He is survived by: his wife Cathryn; his siblings, Greg (Laurie), Raymond (Chris), Randy (Brenda), Charlene Smith (Robin), Pam Beznoska (Neal), Doreen Moreau (Terry) and Barbara Jalbert (Brent); and his siblings-in-law, Paula Hnatuk, Bruce Menzies, David Menzies (Yvonne McNamara), Elizabeth Menzies (Ken Gaida) and Sandra Sorensen. He is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews, great nieces and nephews.
