It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Karen Mary Lakevold in Provost, Alberta, born in Ponoka, Alberta, who passed away on March 29, 2022, at the age of 71, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by: her parents, Frank Meier and Theresa Meier; her brothers, Gary Meier and Leonard Meier; her parents-in-law, Osborne and Clara Lakevold; her son Daryl; her nephews, Rodrick Ferguson and Joshua Boake; and her brothers-in-law, Lee Boake and Bill Jack.

She is survived by: her husband Calvin Lakevold; her children, Darcy Lakevold (Brenda), Michelle Peacock (Travis) and Bobby Lakevold; her grandchildren, Kellie Mohr (Dylyn), Kerry Lakevold (Amy), Klayton, Kody, Evan, Kenzie, Emmett and Kahle; her great grandchildren, Scarlett, Layton and Kash; her siblings, Lorna Jack, Marge Tripp (Jerry), Ben Meier, Peggy Busby (Harold), Bob Meier (Pat Therrien), Martin Meier (Colleen), Christine Meier, Linda Jakubec (Jerry), Gina Lukey (Joe) and Tom Meier (Lois); her siblings-in-law, Gerald Lakevold (Joyce), Carol Ferguson (Les), Shirley Thompson (Don), Maryanne Faber (Gean), Janet Lakevold Boake and Yvonne Jennings (Gord); and her close friend Irene Young. She is also survived by her numerous nieces, nephews, great nieces and nephews and relatives.
