He was predeceased by: his children, Brenda and Stephen. He is survived by: his wife Bea; his daughter Maxine Reed (Mike); his granddaughter Jennica Taylor (Mark); his great grandchildren, Anika and Lincoln; his grandson Tyson Reed (Tanis); his great grandchildren, Lily, Abby, Rose, Olivia and Zion; his grandson Travis Reed (Beth); his great grandchildren, Stephanie and Alayna; his son Philip Schalin (Pamela); his grandchildren, Naomi, Brannon, Donavon, Justin and Morgan; and his sister Myrna Harsch (Bert). He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
