He was predeceased by: his parents, John Schauerte and Clara Schauerte. He is survived by: his wife Jane Bruder; his stepson Robert McCallum; his grandchildren, Charissa Morgan (Bre), Tristan McCallum and Ashton McCallum; and his brothers, Paul Schauerte (Hank), Ronald (Rhonda Bruder), Eric (Olga Bruder), Blaise (Linda Bruder), Dennis (Ann Carney), Myron (Evelyn Bruder), David (Bev Bruder), Rhona Bartolotti, Jan (Steve Bruder-Sedgwick), James (Lynn Bruder), Carlos (Glenda Bruder), Steve Bruder and Tony (Lorraine Bruder). He is also survived by many nieces, nephews and dear friends.
A funeral service was held on Friday, April 4th 2025 at 1:00 PM at the St. Michael's Catholic Church (958 Christie Ave, Pincher Creek, AB T0K1W0).
