Shirley Nelson Obituary
It is always difficult saying goodbye to someone we love and cherish. Family and friends must say goodbye to their beloved Shirley Nelson of Pincher Creek, Alberta, who passed away at the age of 83, on April 15, 2021. You can send your sympathy in the guestbook provided and share it with the family.
She was loved and cherished by many people including: her parents, Clara Carmichael and John Carmichael; her daughter Debbie Pickens (Ed); her grandson Gabriel of Claresholm; her son Rob Gedcke of Red Deer; her grandchildren, Justin Gedcke (Nikki) of Lethbridge, Cameron Gedcke of Red Deer and Shellaine Gedcke; her great grandchildren, Landon of Lethbridge and Hunter of Lethbridge; her close friends, Alphonse, Doreen Van Langen and Larry Leavitt; her husband Lloyd Nelson; her siblings, Kay Pearson (Al), Mary Zech (Walter), Marg Zech (Ted), Don Carmichael (Rogere) and Dave Carmichael; her grandfather Silvester Heslop; and her sibling Butte. She was also cherished by 14 nieces and nephews, many friends.
She enjoyed phone calls from family and friends who knew better than to call during a sporting event she was watching, such as hockey, football, baseball, basketball; she enjoyed watching the Raptors during the pandemic. That was her biggest complaint about the pandemic, no sports!
He also was one of many who hauled countless loads of gravel for the foundation of the Hwy going through Claresholm, and pictures showed the tops of the trucks level with the sidewalks to build the foundation before the road was paved.
