With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Maria Janet Van Harten (Picture Butte, Alberta), who passed away on January 13, 2025 at the age of 53. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
As we bid farewell to this cherished soul, solace is taken in the memories held dear — the laughter shared, the wisdom imparted, the moments of quiet reflection in their presence. Though Maria Janet Van may no longer walk among us, her spirit lives on in the echoes of her kindness, the warmth of her embrace, and the light of her enduring love.
She was predeceased by: her father Hendrik Van Harten. She is survived by: her mother Nel Van Harten; and her siblings, Leneke Fintelman (Mark), Erika Schuit (David), Menno Van Harten (Barb), Marleen Verhey (Tim), Ben Van Harten (Krista), Margareth Van Liere (Quin) and Elsa Ymker (Mike). She is also survived by 49 nieces and nephews.
In lieu of flowers, a donation to Bethesda Care Home, Picture Butte or Eventide Home, Lethbridge would be appreciated.
