He was predeceased by: his parents, Johannes Verbaas and Dirjke Verbaas; and his siblings, Jake Verbaas, Heltje Verbaas, Betsie Van Der (Arie) and Susanna Martin.
He is survived by: his wife Linda Verbaas of Blairmore, AB; his children, Leonard Verbaas (Thyra) of Coldstream, BC and Melissa Blais (Mikey) of Gracefield, QC; his grandchildren, Hannah, Sarah, Jared and Nicholas (Chelsea); his brothers, Henry Verbaas of Blairmore, AB and Conrad Verbaas (Anne) of Bellevue, AB; and his brother-in-law Charlie Martin. He is also survived by his extended family and many friends.
