She was predeceased by: her husband Hendrick; her daughter-in-law Tina; and her grandson Edwin. She is survived by: her children, Wendy Bakker (Gerrit), Gerrit Van Essen, Andy Van Essen (Rhonda), Evert Van Essen (Edith), Wilma Oskam (Kees), Henk Van Essen, Lourens Van Essen (Peggy), Elske (Fred) and Hardenberg. She is also survived by 41 grandchildren and 61 great grandchildren.
