Lawrence was loved by everyone and will be missed beyond words. Despite his lifestyle, he was somebody other than what one may believe.
Lawrence had a huge, huge heart. The ladies loved him, you couldn't keep them off him ever since he hit puberty I believe. I was always jealous of that. He often slipped away with girls I was interested in!
But that was Lawrence. Also, he loved his Mother more than anything. He constantly worried about her due to the fact that he loved her so much and never wanting anything to happen to her as she was his rock. They were very close, and Lawrence never said one bad word about his mother in the time I knew him.
Once Lawrence had a gay-prideflag on his wall. It had been there for quite some time, weeks, because his walls were covered with other posters. I saw the flag and I saw it was a pride flag, aka the rainbow flag.
Nothing wrong with that. I casually mentioned the flag to Lawrence and he couldn't believe it. After a lot of back and forth "really? are you?? wtf? wow" he ripped it off his wall. It was very hard to stop laughing for quite some time.
I remember once when I lived next door to him, I worked a double shift and was beyond tired. I came home and went over to his place. Okay wait, Lawrence didn't cook much. But Lawrence boiled me hot dogs so I could eat something after work. Sure he left them in the cold wiener water for at least three hours, but they were delicious and something special to me because it's the effort that counts.
He was the perfect roommate for me. We got along so well we could live in the same bedroom with each other and I think we only fought once. We barely were apart, people actually started thinking we were homosexual. So we decide to mess with people and act slightly .. you know. Very believable apparently and tons of fun. Lawrence loved to have fun and his laugh was very contagious.
He also loved his dog, Girl, and would rarely let her leave his side. He often scolding me when in fact his dog was attacking and biting me. That's how much he loved his pup.
He will be forever remembered as someone who cared about his close friends and family sometimes more than himself, remembered as a loving son, brother, friend, cousin, and much more. His physical self may be gone from this world but his spirit lives on through all of our lives, forever.
