He was predeceased by: his parents, Linda Cowan and Arthur Cowan; his siblings, Marg Dell (Ernie), Theodore Cowan, Dorothy Huget (Ernie), Phyllis Marr (Mac), Orval Cowan, Cecil Cowan and Norma Cowan; his brothers-in-law, Art Ward and Don Hubner; and his parents-in-law, Bill and Elsie Dunster.
He is survived by: his wife Joan Dunster; his children, Darlene Ohlhauser (Mike) and Rodney Cowan (Nadine); his granddaughters, Lyndsay Carver (Curtis), Kelsie Ekdahl (Ryan), Danica and Darci Cowan; his great grandchildren, Thomas and Jonathan Ekdahl; his siblings, Bernice Ward, Iola Hubner, Cecelia Smith (Norman) and Lyle Cowan (Annie); and his sisters-in-law, Yvonne and Priscilla Cowan Mavis Tishinski (Will). He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
