He was predeceased by: his parents, Sidney Elmer and Mae Elmer; and his siblings, Clifford, Glenn, George, Frances, Beatrice and Dorothy.
He is survived by: his wife Marie; his daughter Kathy Cook (Rob) of Victoria, B. C.; his stepchildren, Brad Lutz (Jennifer) of Olds, Shane Lutz (Leanne Bennett) of Olds and Kim Lutz (Lisa) of Olds; his grandchildren, Jake, Jenna, Emma, Paige, Ethan, Lindsay (Shane), Mark (Amanda), Dan, Sarah, Nicolas, Emily, Hannah and Isaac; his great grandchildren, Geric, Julea, Gavin, Brigid, Esmée and Maverick; his brother Roy Elmer (Marilynn) of Vulcan; and his siblings-in-law, Ross (Linda) of Calgary and Mabel Elmer. He is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews, his extended family at "Legacy Village" and many friends.
In lieu of flowers, memorial tributes may be made directly to the Olds & District Hospice Society.
