He was predeceased by: his parents, Norman Venaas and Juanita Venaas; his son Tyler Venaas; his father-in-law Floyd Emde; and his nieces, Patti Long and Joan Venaas.

He is survived by: his significant other Penelope; his close friend Debbie Davis; his daughter Tara (Steve); his grandchildren, Brooklyn, Camryn, Hayden, Cruise, Payton, August and Sienna; his siblings, Judy Venaas, John Long (Bea), Ralph Venaas (Shari), Meryle Venaas (Gail), Norma Rosengren and Amber Venaas; and his mother-in-law Gwen Emde. He is also survived by many nieces, nephews, great-nieces and nephews and great-great-nieces.
