He was predeceased by: his parents, John Ferguson and Harriet Ferguson; his wife Ella; his son Gary MacDonald; his son-in-law Bill Griner; and his granddaughter Lisa Germain.

He is survived by: his children, Bruce Ferguson, Carol Griner and Lori Carmichael (John); his daughter-in-law Lynda; his grandchildren, Bonnie Kroetsch (Rob), Collin Ferguson (Kora), Michael Germain (Kelly), Chris Germain, Camille Germain, Bill Griner (Tammy) and Gordon Griner (Jaime); his great grandchildren, Kersten Barry, Chase Kroetsch (Katrina), Branik Ferguson, Vannia Ferguson, Bentley Germain, Kenzley Germain, Derryl Griner and Kaleb Griner; and his great great grandchildren, Silas Hilsabeck and Blake Danielson. He is also survived by his nieces and nephews.
