He was predeceased by: his parents, Harold Paul Shultz and Thelma Mary Shultz (Christianson); his brother-in-law Ken; and his granddaughter Morghan. He is survived by: his great grandchildren, Gene (Gulled), Christine (Shad), Sonya, Scott Cindy Brayden (Trent), Wendy Jazlynn (John), Jaydon, Jayla, Wynter Jodi Caleb and Kiera; and his siblings, Grace, Louis (Shirley), Doreen (Bill), Sheila (Scott) and Delbert (Karon). He is also survived by numerous nieces / nephews.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be directed to Grant's granddaughter Morghan's memorial scholarship fund at Acadia University in support of musical therapy students. On-line donations to the following address.
