It is with deep sorrow that we announce the death of Elizabeth Julia Birkett of Okotoks, Alberta, who passed away on May 10, 2022, at the age of 83, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by: her parents, József Sabo and Julianna Sabo; her siblings, Julia, Alec, Vince and Joseph; and her son Todd.

She is survived by: her husband Jack Birkett; her sons, Jack (Sharon), David (Karen) and Darren (Judy); her grandchildren, Chynna (Andrew), Andrea (Rob), Andrew, Sydney (Matt), Samuel (Karli) and Matthias (Chelsea); and her great grandchildren, Lucy and Elora. She is also survived by her family and friends.

“From Vincent Sabo Jr. . . . Recently, I spoke with Dave about one of many events that stands out in my memory about Aunt Beth, Jack Sr., Jack Jr., Dave and Darren . . . . THE BIRKETT CREPE FESTIVAL . . . I thought I was special, but learned recently from Dave that his mom rolled out her special breakfast crepes for many others besides me . . .
