He was predeceased by: his parents, Hertha Riechelmann and Otto Riechelmann; and his sister Waltraud Matthiessen. He is survived by: his children, Anke Carnegie (Greg Brown), Maike Kemball (Mark Lehar), Annegret Seefried (Len) and Kim Riechelmann (Tanis); the parent of his children Uta Riechelmann; his granddaughter Michelle Hodgins (Connor); his great grandchildren, Henry and Elliott; his grandchildren, Brian Kemball, Shawn Carnegie and Linden Carnegie (Andrea); his great grandchild Aiven; and his grandchildren, Tenille Riechelmann, Tyler Riechelmann and Sierra Finley. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
