He was predeceased by: his parents, Mike Scharff and Amelia Scharff (Lautermilch); his in-laws, Dave and Katie Miller (Martian); his sisters, Lusy (Frank Noble), Edna (Ike Lanz), Viola (Gordon Little), Alice (Art Weiss) and Evelyn (Elmer Weiss); and his brother-in-law Frank Miller.

He is survived by: his wife Rose (Miller); his children, Rick Scharff (Cheryl) and Charlene Litowsky (Joe); his grandchildren, Mike Scharff, Carlyn Hood (Jordan), Mac Scharff, Nick Litowsky (Kristie) and Mason Litowsky (McKenna); his great grandchildren, Decker, Cabela, Hood, Alexi, Myah, Nikko and Kapri Litowsky; and his siblings-in-law, Don Miller (Maryanne) and Josephine Miller. He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
