He was predeceased by: his wife Midge; his son-in-law Scott McCray; his parents, Harold Yates and Ethel Yates; and his siblings, Pat Brooks (Mick), Bill Yates (Toody) and Richard Yates.
He is survived by: his children, Russel Yates (Rochelle), Pat McCray, Shelly Lambert and Murray Yates (Jayne); his grandchildren, Bailey McCray, Miles McCray, Kaelin Lambert, Clayton Yates and Rohdy Yates; and his great grandchild Mekah McCray.
