They then moved to a farm South of Portreeve, Saskatchewan where they farmed until Grampas death in 1971. Mom and Dad met at the pool hall in Portreeve in 1961 and had a game or two with Mom not realizing that Dad grew up in the pool hall in Prelate and was a very good player. They started dating and got married October 5, 1963. They settled in Swift Current, Saskatchewan where Dad was a Technician at CJFB for 11 years and Mom took on the duties of housewife and mother. By mid-1968 they welcomed three children into their lives and Mom occasionally waitressed at Wong's Kitchen. The family moved to Medicine Hat in 1974, where Dad was employed by the Medicine Hat Regional Hospital and Mom later worked as a Laboratory/Pathology clerk for many years before retiring with Dad in 1999. After retirement, they spent winters in Yuma and summers camping around Alberta with their circle of friends. Mom enjoyed playing cards, dancing and socializing, golfing, cleaning house (you could literally eat off her floors), and most of all visiting with her loved ones. Mom was a hard worker and liked to help out anywhere she could; no task was too mundane or boring, she just got it done!
