He was predeceased by: his former wife Mary Herlein; his son Kelly; his son-in-law Dieter Stemmann; his great grandchild Lauren Stemmann; his siblings, Edward, Albert, Pete, Nick and Kay Read; his parents, Michael and Marianna; his brother Clint; and also Jim Coniber.
He is survived by: his wife Katherine Lesmeister (Kay); his children, Barry Hager (Joyce), Julie Stemmann, Trish Hirsekorn (Jim), Dan Hager (Michele), Eve Lantz (Dave), Rose Cowan (Dan), Rita Hager (Jerry Edwards), Bonnie Cook (Bernie), Laurie Gagnon (Darby) and Trina Kobley (Mike); his sister Caroline Knapik; his stepchildren, Linda Crockford (Bob), Marlene Conibear, Janet Wiebe and Laurie Lesmeister; and his sister Jerry. He is also survived by children and grandchildren.
