He is survived by: his wife Elaine Austin of Medicine Hat; his children, Greg Austin, Lee-Ann Austin (Sean Teeling), Victoria Austin (Dave Jardine), Shawn McLennan, Brent McLennan (Raquel) and Ryan McLennan (Shakina); his mother Bernice Austin; his siblings, Ralph Austin (Bev), Allan Austin, Doug Austin (Linda) and Cindy Nielsen (Greg); and his extended family, April and Andrej Jaros. He is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews.
