It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Leona Smyl of Mallaig, Alberta, who passed away on July 21, 2020, at the age of 87, leaving to mourn family and friends. Leave a sympathy message to the family on the memorial page of Leona Smyl to pay them a last tribute.
She was predeceased by: her parents, Chester Kachmarchyk and Honorata Kachmarchyk; and her brothers, Dan and Eddie. She is survived by: her husband Leonard; her children, Alex (Moni), Walter (Mary), Christine Ostapiw (Terry), Felix (Adele), Maryann Journault (Vic), Allen (Shauna), Kenny (Rachel) and Peter (Kayla); her grandchildren, Aime, Melissa, Andrea McClure, Matthew, Richard, Kevin, Amanda Miller, Tara Nixon, Trevor Ostapiw, Karrie Foisy, Kyle, Kolin, Alana Hempel, Rena Journault, Brianna Hebert, Brittany Brousseau, Bradley, Brandin, Austin, Danielle Houle, Travis, Garrett, Jackson and Charlie; her sister Sophie Michaud (Marcel); and her sister-in-law Lorraine Kachmarchyk. She is also survived by numerous nieces & nephews.
