Doreen Violet Amschler Obituary

With great love and honor we sadly announce the passing of our Mom, Grandma and Great-Grandma, Doreen Violet Amschler. Doreen passed away peacefully in the comfort of her own home on August 20th, 2018, at the age of 78, surrounded by her loving family of whom she devoted her life to, and with her beloved pup by her side. She lived her life with grit and grace and will be remembered for the love that she so openly gave to everyone and everything that crossed her path.

Doreen will be lovingly remembered by her children Claudette (Russ) and Rick (Kim); two grandchildren Danae (Garett) and Trisanne (Sean); great-grandchildren Corben, Winnie, Penny, and Hailey and Stella; sisters Phyllis, Angie and Deb (Roger); and by her numerous extended family members and dear friends. Doreen was predeceased and welcomed with open arms by her loving husband of 45 years Werner (Vern); her parents Alex and Olga Steinwand; her brother Ken; and two sisters in-law Gabriele and Irmgard.

In honor of Doreen's wishes, a funeral will not be held. A small gathering of family and close friends will be held at a later date to celebrate her legacy.

Our family would like to thank the medical, palliative and home care givers who treated Doreen with the love and compassion that she deserved. We would also like to thank all Canadian blood donors. Together, your thoughtfulness and generosity has given our family and friends the gift of time to cherish and celebrate Doreen.
