He was predeceased by: his parents, Alice Boyd (Stonehouse) and Frank Boyd; and his brothers, Murry and Gordon. He is survived by: his wife Sylvia; his sisters, Verna, Ruth, Eileen, Valerie and Bonnie; his sons, Jim (Kelly), Roy, Dennis (Dina) and Dale; his grandchildren, Amy (Drew), Scott (Cianna), Dallas (Amber), Shane (Tianna), Cody (Katrina), Jenna and Evan; and his great grandchildren, Jax, Blake, Max and Alanna.

Sylvia developed Parkinson's disease in 1992 and he cared for her until her passing in 2016.
