He was predeceased by: his parents, Fredrick Schimelfenig and Martha Schimelfenig; and his siblings, Daniel, Reinold, Walter, Emma Therrien, Erna Gufstason and Marie Haller.

He is survived by: his wife Ada Ellis; his children, Wayne (Karen Hult) and Wendy Martin (Ken); his grandchildren, Ryan, Nikki, Andrew (Elisa) and Christi (Jesse); his daughter Carolyn Jabusch (Kim); his grandchildren, Carleah Gotchia (Matt) and Jessica Anderson (Travis); his children, Dixie (Roger), Becky (Ryan), Wade (Breanna), Brandi (Scott) and Kevin (Michelle); his grandchildren, Jordan (Angela), Shaylene Graves (Terrence), Tristen (Brittany) and Samara; and his siblings, Berthold, Lillian Burgess and Margaret Hastings.
