She was predeceased by: her husband Otmer Matthews; her parents, Ernest Palmer and Hazel Palmer; her granddaughter Theresa; and her siblings, Albert, Herb, Don, Melvin, Winnie and Esther Nelson (George).

She is survived by: her son Rick Matthews (Susie); her grandchildren, James Lloyd (Jenny), Stuart, Anna-Marie, Mary and Sam; her daughter Joan Bellanger; her grandchildren, Micheal (Yasmine) and Janine Tebay (Nathan); her daughter Vicky Dyck (Ken); and her grandchildren, Tyler and Cory.
