He was predeceased by: his parents, Paul Oster and Mary Oster; his brother Leonard Oster; his parents-in-law, Don and Betty Harbin; his brothers-in-law, Bill Mapletoft, Ryan Harbin and Perry Bennett; and his niece Amara Meyer.

He is survived by: his wife Gail; his children, Matthew Oster (Twilla) and Mindy Laley (Trevor); his grandchildren, Samantha Laley and Devon Laley; and his sisters, Dianna Mapletoft, Sharron Jackson (Ken) and Joanne Bennett. He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
