He was predeceased by: his parents, Peter Olynyk and Victoria Olynyk; his parents-in-law, John and Viola McCorriston; and his brother-in-law Mel McCorriston.

He is survived by: his wife Geraldine; his sons, Dustin (Mileydi) and Ryan (Tanis); his stepchildren, Shannon Byers (Jim) and Tim Rorke (Jamie); his grandchildren, Jordan (Amber), Joshua, Tegan (Judy), Justin, Robyn (Ethan), Keanna (Jayden), Braylin, Madison, Abigail and Malcolm; his brothers, Roy (Elaine) and Rob Olynyk (Karen); his siblings-in-law, Rod McCorriston (Keli), Kate McCorriston and Judy Kowalchuk (Eugene); his aunt Olga Pastachak; and his uncles, Steve and Nestor Werstiuk (Gloria). He is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews, extended family and wonderful friends.
