He was predeceased by: his son Jack Swift; his parents, Jack Swift and Beatrice Swift; and his parents-in-law, George and Elva Lyons.

He is survived by: his wife Gwen of Lloydminster; his son Richard Swift (Michelle) of Lloydminster; his grandchild Davin Swift (Nat); his great grandchildren, Henrik and Ashley Schneider (Catlin); his son Herbert Swift (Sydney) of Victoria, B. C.; his grandchildren, Evan and Katherine Swift; his daughter Wendy Murray (Dave) of Kitscoty; his grandchildren, Ashley and Jason Murray; his brothers, Donald and Ronald Swift of Mission City, B. C.; his brother-in-law Edward Lyons of Edmonton; and also, Crosby, Lennan, Teague and Taylor Swift (Chase Guest). He is also survived by his nieces and nephews.
