She was predeceased by: her husband Vernon Mullis; her sons, Brian Mullis and Gary Mullis; her parents, Francis "Frank" Smith and Elizabeth Smith; her sister Elsie (Jock); and her sister-in-law Marian.

She is survived by: her children, Debbie Joa (Vernon) and Mark Mullis (Ange); her grandchildren, Lyndon (Jordan), Kaylee (Justin), Darcy, Karissa (Albert), Orren (Iryna), Tyren, Jake, Tyler (Melanie), Amber (Tom) and Doron (Max); and her brother Earl Smith. She is also survived by twelve great grandchildren; five great-great grandchildren.

Donations in memory of Dorothy may be made to Canadian Cancer Society.
