He was predeceased by: his parents, Marshall Winder and Winnifred Winder; his siblings, Lyle Winder and Vivian; and his brothers-in-law, Nick Stasiuk and Victor McClellan (Doreen).

He is survived by: his wife Shirley; his daughter Rhonda Mathison (Murray); his grandchildren, Brooke and Brianna Mathison; his son Marlin Winder; his cousin Wayne Simm (Treva); and his brother-in-law Rodney McClellan. He is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews, extended family and friends.

Donations in memory of Darrel may be made to the Paradise Hill Care Home or to a charity of the donor's choice.
