He was predeceased by: his parents, Clarence and Trientje; his brother Gordon; and his brother-in-law Bill Sinnema. He is survived by: his children, Ruth Vanden Heuvel (Jim) of Lethbridge, Cody, Kyle, Thelma Sawtelle (James) of Minneapolis, MN, Joseph (Kayla), Leah (David), Nathan, Stephan, Calvin Tuininga of Lethbridge, Brenda Vroom (Hank) of Lethbridge, Rachel, Kimberlee and Levi; his great grandchildren, William Sawtelle and Miriam Danielson; and his siblings, Henny, Lambert, Jim, Edith and Anke.
